Slightly salted butter is often used to spread on bread or to serve with radishes, but it also has its place in pastry making!
It will enhance your pie crusts, bring out the taste of chocolate in your brownies or make your muffins even more delicious.
Preheat your oven to 210°C (fan oven).
Melt the butter in a saucepan over a low heat, then leave to cool.
Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until the mixture lightens.
Add the sifted flour and baking powder, and mix it all again.
Add the melted butter and mix one last time until the dough is smooth.
Put the mixture into the muffin tins and bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 210°C.
Leave to cool before removing from the tins and serving.
Tip: You can use a piping bag to top your sponge buns with a red fruit compote or hazelnut spread.
