A meaningful partnership between SOLAAL and Alsace Lait

On 29 April, we were honoured to take part in the SOLAAL (Solidarity of Food Producers and the Food Industry) General Assembly.

On this occasion, François Grillet, Director of Innovation, R&D and CSR at Alsace Lait, took the floor to give an annual review of our food donations. It was a good time to remind us of our practical commitment to an essential cause: the fight against food waste and food poverty.

In France, one in seven people live below the poverty line.
To do something about this, for the past two years Alsace Lait has been working alongside SOLAAL, an association that brings together producers, manufacturers and food aid organisations.

Our shared mission: to give a second life to unsold products by redistributing them to those who need them most.

Focus on our work in 2024:
 • 110 donations (26% of which in the Grand Est region)
 • 153 tonnes of fresh dairy products redistributed
 • The equivalent of 306,000 meals donated to food aid

It is thanks to this synergy between players in the world of agriculture, cooperatives and associations that practical solutions get off the ground as close as possible to where they are needed.

Together, let's continue to work for fairer, more ethical food.
